1.5 Illinois CLE Credit Hours pending approval

Dear Members:

On behalf of the officers and Board of Governors of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, I hope that you and your families are safe and well. Of course, we were unable to assemble this past May for our annual meeting, but I look forward to a time when we can gather together as an Association again safely.

In the meantime, the Association is committed to offering extensive web-based programming. In May, we hosted an online CLE on remote depositions, and earlier this month we presented a virtual panel on taking and defending Rule 30(b)(6) depositions. Planning for several more programs is underway, as we work to offer members innovative educational opportunities online. At the same time, in the hope that circumstances will permit us to hold our annual meeting next spring, the Board of Governors has determined to keep our current leadership in place for an additional year, and we have reserved dates at the Radisson Blu Aqua, our usual Chicago venue, for May 2-4, 2021. We are assembling a terrific collection of programs and speakers,
while continuing to monitor health conditions and advisories
to determine how best to proceed next May.

As always, to accomplish our mission, we rely on your continued dues support and on your participation in the Association’s activities. Our current membership year expires today, June 30, 2020, and your annual dues statement can be accessed HERE. I encourage you to pay your dues online at the Association’s website HERE. If you’ve forgotten your login or password, please contact Debbie Groboski at If you prefer, you can mail a check, along with the dues statement, to the address listed on the form.

If you’ve already submitted your dues payment, thank you. I look forward to connecting virtually and, ultimately, to gathering in person when circumstances permit. Until then, stay safe and be well.

  Very truly yours,

     Michael A. Scodro

             President, Seventh Circuit Bar Association
